The Sankofa Warrior, derived from the Akon tribe of Ghana, was inspired by the Akon symbol meaning “search in the past for guidance to move forward”.
The concept for this piece came to me in 2013 during a time of transition out of my parents house into the world on my own. Protected and guided by the ancestors, the Sankofa Warrior is fully equipped for any battle that comes his way.
